Krista De Shane / Ontario

Krista was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, and attended the University of Guelph, but her family roots stem from Newfoundland. Krista was just two years old when she first boarded a dory operated by her grandfather, a fisherman from Bellburns, Newfoundland. Over the years Krista grew up hearing stories from the "Rock" of friends and family who lost their lives either at work or play on the Atlantic Ocean, which taught her to be aware of and to respect the water. Now, a proud mother of a daughter and son, Krista lives in Sarnia, Ontario working with the Canadian Coast Guard, Central & Arctic Region. Between her families activities on the water and a career in the Canadian Coast Guard, Krista feels a responsibility to be knowledgable and informed about water safety. Krista's motto is 'Be Safe, Stay Alive'
